The program seeks to engage decision makers in the SDGs process and hold the government accountable for its promotion, planning, financing and implementation, specifically on gender equality priorities under Goal 5 (Achieve Gender Equality and Empower all Women and Girls) in six counties namely Nakuru, Bomet, Kitui, Kisumu, Kilifi and Kajiado.
This project aims at provides an overview of the SDGs data ecosystem in Kenya, focussing on data produced by selected county governments as well as civil society organisations. The mapping exercise covers five Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) namely, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 7: Affordable Clean Energy.
This year’s CSO submission reports on SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17 and sets out progress for this year’s CSO submission under thematic areas of situational analysis/context, the enabling environment that CSOs operate in, best practice for implementing respective SDGs, and challenges. The report also contains recommendations under each SDG to strengthen accountability and implementation.
